How to Win at Ballroom Dance Competitions

Winning ballroom dance competitions requires not only flawless routines but also proper preparation.

Key preparatory steps to bring you closer to victory:

1. We recommend having your costumes custom-tailored, as they will be made to your exact measurements and meet all your preferences.

The key is to have them ready 15–20 days before the competition so you can practice in them beforehand.

2. Half an hour before the competition, do a short warm-up with your partner: stretch and massage. This will restore the functionality of all muscle groups.

3. The right cosmetics and hairstyle will bring you one step closer to victory. So take care of your couple's appearance well in advance.
Entrust your hair and makeup to professionals—they will shape your final look.

4. Before performing, every dancer feels anxiety and stress that can be hard to overcome. Remember, panic can throw you off and lead to mistakes.

We recommend not running through all dance elements right before your performance. First, calm down and think of something pleasant, or distract yourself by talking with your partner. While performing, enjoy the dance. Move from the heart—the judges will surely notice.

5. Prepare everything for the event in advance.
If the competition involves travel, consider buying a blanket, travel pillow, and a mug for comfort. Also, don’t forget to prepare all necessary documents for the trip and participation.

6. Start eating properly a couple of weeks before the competition. Create a special menu that keeps you in shape without overloading your body.
But never starve! Remember, training takes a lot of energy, depleting your body. The only source to replenish lost energy is proper food.

7. Take walks in the fresh air. This clears your mind and helps you relax.

8. Think positively! Remember, thoughts are material!
A winning mindset, great appearance, and confidence are the keys to victory!

Follow all these rules, train hard, think positively, and victory will be yours! Good luck!
