Vogue Dance Clothing and Footwear: A Complete Guide

Each dance direction requires specific clothing. First, to be comfortable while training. Second, to look good. Buying items for dance classes directly depends on the dance style.

Voguing involves active arm and leg movements, unconventional poses. The dance consists of acrobatic and gymnastic movements, so tight clothing won't work—it will restrict all movement.

[h5]For training, you can stock up on the following items:[/h5]

— Sports tops. Elastic, breathable fabric. You'll be comfortable training in them. The fabric should be pleasant to the skin and not chafe. Tops are great for voguing. They don't restrict movement and bare the stomach. Don't worry if you don't have a flat stomach—there's no need to be embarrassed. The dance will liberate you and make you love yourself as you are. Plus, voguing is an excellent way to lose weight.

— Costumes are important for performances, because voguing originated from the various costumes that people sewed themselves. A dancer's outfit is like their autograph: original, bright, unlike any other. In particular, Madonna's look is used in competitions. Sometimes a dancer may simply not be allowed to compete due to an inappropriate costume, so it's important to understand fashion and trends. Some dance schools teach not only voguing but also how to choose clothing for the dance.

— Leggings and a long T-shirt also work for classes. Leggings can be leopard print or even with skulls. The brighter, the better. A person should stand out first in class and then on stage, and brightness is created by flashy clothing and flashy makeup.

— Don't exclude accessories. Unlike other dance styles, voguing allows bracelets and earrings. A velvet choker can adorn the neck. However, if you're afraid of losing an accessory during training, it's better to remove it.

— Some prefer to vogue in shorts, mini-skirts, and short dresses. That's fine for a stage look, but if you're a beginner in this style, it's better to stick with sportswear.

— Sneakers are completely unsuitable for classes. You should opt for athletic shoes. Don't come to training in heels. It's at least dangerous, and besides, it's hard to execute movements in heels. The shoe material should be breathable. If sneakers don't let air in, your feet will get hot and sweaty. Shoes made of natural or synthetic leather, as well as mesh material, are suitable. Shoes should be sturdy and elastic. If they don't meet these two criteria, training will be uncomfortable and unsafe.

So, we've covered clothing that is great for training and will look good on stage. The main thing is that the person feels comfortable moving in it; other criteria take a back seat.

Voguing is for people who want to show themselves. And clothing plays an important role here. An unconventional bright outfit will immediately set a dancer apart from the crowd. But of course, the dancer's movements are also important.

If you love interesting poses, active arm movements, originality in everything, then this dance is made for you.
