In this article, we cover the most common questions students ask about dance and fitness classes, including attire, flexibility, time management, and more.
1) What clothing is needed for classes?
For stretching and yoga in hammocks: leggings, any socks or ballet slippers, tank top or T-shirt, towel for shower (optional).
For Pole Dance: short shorts, sleeveless tank or top, socks or ballet slippers, towel for shower (optional).
For Pole Dance Exotic: short shorts, tank top, knee pads recommended, comfortable sandals or professional stripper heels, towel for shower (optional).
2) What's the difference between a free pass and a day pass?
A day pass is valid for all class types before 6pm, while a free pass is valid anytime for all class types.
3) Will I succeed if I'm overweight?
Of course! Exercise helps reduce weight, and combined with a diet, it yields amazing results! Regular training always gives positive results regardless of your weight and age.
4) Do I need to be flexible for classes?
No, not at all. Any instructor will assess your physical abilities on the first class and give exercises to develop flexibility and stretch for more complex moves you'll be able to perform over time.
5) What does a class include?
Pole Dance: warm-up, stretch, pole work, dance combos, and 10-minute strength training with dumbbells.
Stretching: warm-up, exercises for back, arms, and legs, joint mobility exercises, and splits at the end.
6) Should a beginner join an advanced group?
Absolutely! Each instructor at our school takes an individual approach to every student and gives exercises based on their abilities. Advanced students will always support, spot, and motivate you in any endeavor!
7) What if I've never done sports or dance?
It's never too late to start something new and exciting! Plus, you'll meet pleasant and fun people, get in shape, improve your mood and condition, find like-minded individuals, and spend time productively. Can these benefits outweigh any doubts? Sure, your body may ache at first from unaccustomed activity, but it'll pass after a few sessions! The key is to keep going!
8) How fast do pole dance bruises heal?
It depends on how close your capillaries are to the skin. Some never get bruises, while others bruise from a light touch. Remedies include: Bodyaga, First Aid, Mumie, 911 cream.
9) My hands slip on the pole. What should I do?
Almost all beginners experience sweaty hands, often due to stress from a new environment and company. You need to get used to the place, so don't stop training for at least 2-3 months to feel comfortable and stop sweating. Meanwhile, use supplemental grip aids: magnesium powder, liquid magnesium, rosin. For students with hyperhidrosis, consult a specialist.
10) How to balance work and find time for training?
People find time for what truly matters! Investing in yourself is a never-failing investment that makes us better, calmer, and more confident. We face so much stress daily that we can't safely eliminate, and we accumulate it, then vent on our loved ones.
Physical activity relieves negative thoughts better than any psychologist. People who do gymnastics never suffer from depression because this sport produces happiness hormones! Come see for yourself!
