Gibraltar’s Stylos Dance Studios has returned from Dance World Cup 2026 with three World Championship titles and 12 World Championship medals, helping Gibraltar finish 18th in the overall country rankings while competing against countries with significantly larger populations and dance programmes.
The competition took place in Dublin over 11 days, with 11,500 dancers from 60 countries. Stylos represented Gibraltar with 31 dancers performing 52 routines across four simultaneous competition stages.
The gold-winning highlights: Anna Pecino and Marianne Hook took the Children Acro Duet/Trio world title with Nowadays, scoring 97.1 out of 100, one of the highest marks of the championships. Children Small Group Acro added gold with Hey Pachuco, scoring 93.3, while Junior Large Group Jazz took the title with Paris City Jazz, receiving 94.5.
Both children’s gold-winning routines were invited to the Mini and Children Gala, which showcases the highest-scoring performances of the championships. Hey Pachuco also earned Runner-Up Best Small Group across all theatrical dance genres.
Gibraltar was named Runner-Up Nation in the Mini and Children Acro category. Silver medal-winning routines included These Boots, New York, It’s Snowing, Why Don’t You Do Right, You’re Gonna Love Me, and Champagne Taste. Bronze medals went to 1977, Sherlock and Watson, and Tango. Additional country points came from fourth places for Puttin’ on the Ritz, Money, Are You There Yet?, Hoxe, Mañá e Sempre, and Circle of Life; fifth places for To Be Loved, Alice, and Muses; and sixth places for Turbulence, That’s Life, and Steam Heat.
Stylos called the results “a proud moment for Gibraltar.” The coaching team was led by co-Directors Lillian Montero and Lauren Montero, supported by teachers Tracy Hook and Lorelei Shingler, plus Stylos alumni Nathan Villalba and Anna Jimenez, who are currently studying dance at colleges in the UK.
