Morocco Makes History: First Gold Medal at Dance World Cup 2026

Morocco has just made a historic breakthrough on the global dance stage. At the Dance World Cup 2026, Moroccan school **Temps’Danse** brought home the country’s first-ever gold medal — and it wasn’t the only milestone.

Competing against nearly 12,000 dancers from around the world, Temps’Danse fielded a delegation of 36 dancers aged 7 to 24. The biggest moment came from senior dancer **Youssef Mourahab**, who scored **90.9 points** to claim the gold medal and world title in his category. That victory marked the first time Morocco won any medal at the Dance World Cup — and the first time the Moroccan national anthem was played during the competition.

But the success didn’t stop there. **Chama Benkirane** finished fifth in the world in the Street Dance category and earned a **Golden Ticket** — a special distinction that grants selected dancers access to international training workshops. The school’s Commercial Group also cracked the global Top 10, while several solo dancers scored above 83 points, securing positions among the Top 15 in their respective divisions.

These results represent a major leap for Moroccan dance, highlighting the country’s growing presence on the international circuit. Temps’Danse, founded by **Myriam Bouayad**, has become one of Morocco’s leading dance schools by focusing on developing young talent.
