High Heels is a young dance style performed on high heels, winning hearts globally. Though the idea of dancing in heels isn't new, this modern adaptation has transformed into a popular trend.
High Heels is a dance performed on high heels. It's a young dance style that's winning the hearts of young people. It can't be said that it was the first dance in this style, because the idea of dancing in high heels isn't new.
But people started learning about this dance style not too long ago thanks to the famous choreographer Andy J. She came up with the idea of adapting hip-hop into a dance performed on heels. Later, the dance gradually began to spread around the world.
Beauty and grace captivated girls, so they started signing up for classes more actively. Even many celebrities couldn't resist it: Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga. They had brilliant routines choreographed by Sheryl Murakami.
Initially, it was danced mainly by women. They would choose ankle boots (best to go with those, as they secure the foot well) or regular high-heeled sandals and step onto the stage. High Heels was mostly performed in nightclubs. Women entertained men with their graceful and sexy moves in revealing outfits.
Nowadays, many women take up this dance to open up. High Heels suits people with different personalities: gentle, energetic, expressive, and so on. To fully express yourself, you need inner courage, so this dance can be seen partly as an element of psychology. A woman gets to know her body, discovers her sexuality, and becomes liberated. Consequently, her self-esteem rises, and she becomes much more confident. Given the fact that the dance is performed exclusively on heels, a woman instantly transforms on them, "fluttering."
However, today not only women dance on heels, but also... men. Yes, yes, now this certainly doesn't surprise anyone, but young people are keeping up with the times. In this regard, the dance has truly taken a huge step forward. At one time, it was really strange to see men in high heels performing smooth moves that were usually done by women.
Nevertheless, young men also sign up for this type of dance, though not in as large numbers as women. In many clubs, you can see High Heels dancers: it gets the crowd going, it's still considered something unusual, and it attracts more visitors.
Also, High Heels today is not only seen as a club dance created specifically to stir men's imagination. It's a separate form of dance art that requires special skills, good physical fitness, and the ability to stand firmly on heels (which, by the way, is not so easy). Dancers travel to competitions, take places, and receive awards with this dance.
Furthermore, this dance can be regarded as great fitness: during its performance, absolutely all muscles are engaged, so your body will always look beautiful and toned. Muscles will be in shape, you'll feel much more energetic, and you'll also have the opportunity to straighten your posture because it must always be kept upright during the performance. If you don't want to dance professionally but want to lose weight, High Heels is perfect for you.
High Heels is undoubtedly a beautiful and mesmerizing dance, but you shouldn't perceive it only as a club dance because it has long moved beyond those boundaries. Many people strive to learn it for their own goals: boosting self-esteem, losing weight, or simply wanting to discover something new.
