From October 22nd to 25th, dancers from across the globe converged at the Hyatt Regency Orange County Hotel in Garden Grove, California, for a weekend filled with electrifying competitions, enriching workshops, and unforgettable themed parties.
This year's festival, expertly organized by Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollmann, continued the vibrant legacy of its founder, John Wheaton, solidifying its reputation as the premiere destination for Halloween and West Coast Swing enthusiasts. Competitors took to the floor in a series of fierce battles, showcasing the dynamic improvisation and connection that defines West Coast Swing. The event featured a wide array of divisions, including WSDC-sanctioned Jack & Jill contests, Strictly Swing, and the famously creative "Scary Strictly" battles, where dancers brought their A-game alongside their most imaginative costumes. The energy was palpable as dancers pushed their boundaries, delivering performances that captivated judges and spectators alike. Many divisions, such as the Jack & Jill Advanced Finals and Scary Strictly, saw incredible talent vying for top honors.
Beyond the competitive arena, Halloween Swingthing 2026 offered a wealth of learning opportunities.
