Looking for Excuses to Skip Training? Here’s How to Overcome Them
The only way to consistently overcome your excuses for skipping dance training is to develop a battle plan. Discover common excuses and how to beat them.
Excuses are various reasons we invent to avoid doing a task, in this case, training. Of course, there's a difference between legitimate reasons and mere lying. In this article, we'll look at some common excuses people use to skip training.
1. "I'm tired." This might sound logical, but often we skip training due to laziness and a desire to lie on the couch with a phone or laptop. It's best to approach it with a sense of obligation and accept that training doesn't have to be exhausting.
2. "I'm not sure I can do the training." This is a very common excuse, but actually, it shouldn't be a problem. The important thing is to start training, not worry about the result.
3. "I don't have time." This might be true, but in most cases, we can find time. Planning ahead helps us save time and make training more productive. Plus, training can replace time spent on social media or watching TV.
4. "I'll start tomorrow." Some people are forced to skip training due to business consequences. But if we constantly put off training until tomorrow, our physical health can become a victim of procrastination.
5. "I don't want to go alone." This can be a problem if our friends or family regularly skip training and readily join our excuses. It's better to find a new training partner who will support us on the path to our goals.
6. "Rainy weather." This might be true; often we may not be in the mood for training. But think about how your mood will lift after it.
It is unacceptable to skip classes just because of our laziness or frivolity. The only way to consistently deal with your excuses is to develop a plan to fight them. Ultimately, our excuses can be serious obstacles on the way to achieving our goals. If we truly want to change our lives, we must find a way to overcome our excuses and keep moving forward.
