Electro Dance: Evolution and Change in a New Style
Electro Dance emerged as a unique style because it is the only dance genre performed exclusively to electro house music, setting it apart from all other dance styles.
The need for Electro Dance to emerge as a separate dance direction is due to the fact that it is the only dance performed exclusively to electro house music. All other dance styles can be performed to two or more music genres.
Electro Dance is a new style that emerged only in the 2000s, born on club dance floors. At that time, clubs were especially popular, and people who went to clubs were considered cool guys who love movement in life and are full of energy. Belgian club dances were popular then, and they laid the foundation for Electro Dance.
People who visited nightclubs tried to tell everyone about it, filmed videos, took photos, and posted them on social networks. Thanks to this, most subscribers became interested in the nightlife lifestyle, and consequently, in the new Electro Dance direction.
Parties where Electro Dance was danced were called 'Tecktonik'. At the very beginning, when the style was just born, it had no name, so it was named after the party 'Tecktonik'. Tecktonik became a certain brand for both dance and clothing. But later, to avoid confusion with identical names, they created a separate brand called 'Tecktonik' and the dance style Electro Dance.
The creator of the dance with the nickname 'Milky Way' also had a negative attitude towards the dance being given the wrong name. He insisted that the dance be named after him or after the music genre, without involving the brand, with which the dance has absolutely nothing in common.
Therefore, Milky Way was forced to send a mass message on the Internet. The text of the messages called for people to stop using the brand name, to assign the name after the creator, and to send this message to all their friends.
People who type 'Tecktonik' in the search bar are puzzled when they find no information about the dance. Therefore, they assumed that Tecktonik came from Electro Dance or vice versa.
Over time, people began to compare Electro Dance with popping and waving styles, although these styles appeared much earlier. Some dancers who have been studying Electro Dance for a long time begin to study waving and popping in parallel, and can mix movements to create a new unique dance. And viewers who have no particular idea about dancing do not even notice that more than one style is represented in the dance.
Electro Dance attracts many creative beginners because this type of dance does not require specific skills. No particular flexibility or predisposition to dance is needed, so absolutely anyone can start learning this style. Gender, age, or education does not matter.
You can learn the style either on your own or at dance schools. If you don't crave fast results, home learning will suit you. And if you plan to devote yourself to dancing in the future, it's better to turn to professional choreographers and spend a lot of time at rehearsals, getting true pleasure from it.
The style is still at the peak of popularity and is most often found in clubs. There are also all kinds of battles, festivals, and competitions in Electro Dance. Many dance schools have already opened classes for this direction.
People like Electro Dance because through this dance they can express themselves and make a statement, be the center of attention. The style is popular and people feel part of the trend.
