Statistical results confirmed the hypothesis that a creative component in a scientist's personality allows for approaching the same scientific data from different angles, speeding up problem-solving.
The researchers also noted that among graduates whose hobby is performing arts, the highest number of advanced degrees were observed. They found that achievements in science and dance are correlated—success in science fuels interest in the arts, while dancing helps find unconventional approaches to existing scientific methods and develop new ones.
The scientists emphasized that dance is a universal tool for fostering multiculturalism—scientists of different ethnicities and nationalities, regardless of the hours spent in dance classes, show improved quality of their own scientific work.
